Coyote Drive-In Comes to Leeds

Y

ou may not be old enough to remember drive-in movie theaters, but they were a fun part of my childhood. I am “so” excited about the new Coyote Drive-In at The Shops of Grand River in Leeds! This new venue is nothing like the old theaters I remember. There are four giant screens, a mini-golf course, a restaurant and bar, even a stage for live music. It’s adjacent to the shopping mall too so there’s plenty to see and do.

One of the things to know when you go is they only sell double feature packages, but it’s only $8 for an adult ticket so that’s a good deal for two movies. Children ages 5-11 get in for $5 and under five are free. You can even bring your dog…..they have grassy areas where you can walk them before the show and during intermission between the movies.

It’s recommended you arrive early to get the best spot, and with so much to do and the nearby shopping that’s not a problem. Even if you don’t get one of the best spots, you won’t have any problem seeing as the screens are really big and the rows are on berms so the car in front won’t block your view.

I can’t wait to go! Ahhh……summertime!!!

There’s a New Coffee Shop in Town!

W

ell, what a treat and long overdue!!  What used to be a bank, is now transformed into “The Coffee Potter”. It’s located at 24 Schooley’s Mountain Road. The Coffee Potter had only been open less than a week when I first stopped by. I arrived at 4:00 p.m. and the place was packed with friendly, happy customers. My friend and I shared a blueberry scone which was delicious, a cup of coffee and cappuccino. There is a lovely sitting area that faces the street, where you can meet with friends, family or business associates. Free WiFi and a pleasant atmosphere. One more thing:  there’s a drive through window for the convenience of moms with small children who can’t easily run in and grab a quick cup. Dunkin’ Donuts beware!
