Wiard’s Orchard Cider Mill and Nights of Terrors

P

ack up the family and friends and enjoy the day picking apples, pumpkins, or shopping. Fun for all ages but the real fun begins at dark. My friends, family, and I have enjoyed the “Nights of Terrors” with the many haunted houses, mazes, and hayrides for years. The Alien Caged Clowns scared my 13-year old niece, and she was so proud when she turned 17 and didn’t run out screaming and crying again. LOL. My husband will only do the Haunted Hayride since the Chain Saw people can’t chase him. We grab their homemade donuts and cider after and do a little scary karaoke at their stage.

The Peter Anderson Festival Is Here

I

f you’ve lived on the Mississippi Gulf Coast for any length of time, I’m sure you’ve heard of The Peter Anderson Festival. What, you haven’t heard of it? Well, it’s only the largest art festival held in the whole state of Mississippi. And not just that, but the event has been ranked as one of the top 10 fall arts festivals in the Southeast US! Even during the pandemic year of 2020, yes we were all masked up, but there were still an estimated 150,000 people that attended with hundreds of participants. Why is it so popular? Well, you can see and purchase original works of art from many different mediums. But wait, there’s more! What’s a festival without lots of great, live music? Don’t worry, you will hear lots of that. Solo artists and groups, jazz, blues, rock, and more. Speaking of more, yes, there’s more! Lots of tasty delicacies, beverages, and sweets. All this can be found in beautiful downtown Ocean Springs, Mississippi. I bet you can already “picture” yourself here at the festival!

Concerts at The Wharf Amphitheatre

L

ast Thursday night at the Wharf Amphitheatre, I tailgated with friends and saw Jimmy Buffett in concert! I can’t confirm this, but I think one of his favorite places to perform is right here in Orange Beach! We are so lucky on the Alabama Gulf Coast to have this entertainment venue, fabulous restaurants, and let’s not forget our white sugar sand beaches!! Come on down and explore all there is to experience here!
