The Hangout 10th Annual Polar Bear Dip

T

he Hangout 10th Annual Polar Bear Dip was a blast! An awesome way to bring in the new year! On January 1st of each year, The Hangout hosts a free Polar Bear Dip presented by the Kiwanis Club out in front of their restaurant on the beach. There were t-shirts to buy, a DJ, beach bonfires, games and people dressing up crazy! The event was a few hours long and at noon everyone who wanted to participate could run into the gulf and takethe plunge. Following the dip, my family and I sat around one of the bonfires and ate/drank the free hot chocolate and chili. So much fun for all ages!

Winter in Homestead

W

inter in Homestead is like no other. Watching the snowfall over the ponds and the ducks walking on ice are just some of my favorite things. This community of homes, that I happen to abide in, range from 2,500 square feet and up with a minimal of half-acre lots to over one acre. At night, all is quiet, and you can hear owls in the distance…and if you check your external cameras, you might see deer snacking on your pansies. Good thing I love deer! The neighbors are friendly and plan many activities, including a Christmas light contest, Bunco night, and ladies lunch! Much is offered in spring and summer, but that’s an article for the future. You will not regret moving to Homestead!
