Move to Melissa…It Still Has the Small Town Feel

M

elissa is located approximately seven miles north of McKinney off Hwy 121. Many disagree as to the origin of the town names. Some say is was named after Melissa Quinlan, daughter of George Quinlan who was an official of the Texas Central Railroad. Others say Melissa received its name after Melissa Huntington, daughter of C.P. Huntington another railroad executive. No matter who named it Melissa is now a growing, thriving area! Exemplary Melissa ISD still has the small town feel with low teacher to student ratios.

I love to sell homes in Melissa as they make it easy with over 36 new construction homes ready for move in now, or soon to be ready move in! Many of my clients have elected to make the commute to their job in Dallas due to the schools and a new construction home that is in an affordable price range that they could not find in McKinney.
