remember that slogan, “Reading Is FUNdamental”, from my elementary school days. Since that time I’ve developed into an avid, seasoned reader, which is another reason to enjoy the Silver Lake neighborhood. It’s 2.7 miles south of the Patience S. Latting Northwest Library. The architecture for the library itself is pleasing, comfortable, open, light-filled, and almost Frank Lloyd Wright-esque in its design and the way it fits into the land around it. It’s one of those buildings you’d like to live in and it has a strong Oklahoma flavor. Besides it being a pleasant place to read or study, it also, like all of the OKC metro libraries, offers a full range of services. The Northwest Library is another reason why Silver Lake is a place where you’d love to live.
