Spring Is Springing – Finally!

I

am not sure how to picture this for you, so I will use my words. Winter wasn’t awful this year as far as cold and blizzards. It was dark and hard for the skiers to find enough snow. The cloudy days seemed to hang around without producing anything to “play” in. That is why these recent sunny days have been amazing! That is what a photo cannot quite capture. Our famous sunsets are glorious. The blue sky is amazing and reflecting on the open waters of the Little Traverse Bay. Soon we will be identifying wild flowers and seeking the elusive morel mushrooms. (Boyne City National Morel Mushroom Festival, May 16-19, 2024: make your reservations today!) All in all, Springtime in the Petoskey area is lovely. Seriously! No mosquitoes yet, so hiking and camping can begin. The chilly nights are great for campfires, marshmallows and storytime. I am watching the trees outside of my window put on their first, fragile buds. Time for a walk! The Little Traverse Wheelway, down at the Petoskey waterfront park is a perfect place. I hope you enjoy all that the Petoskey area has to offer, regardless of the season.
