The Iris Farm’s Spectacular Flowers Herald Summer’s Arrival

S

ix acres with over 1,000 varieties of irises and over 200 varieties of new hybrid daylilies at The Iris Farm is a sure sign of summer. The Iris Farm was first thought of 17 ago when a Leelanau farmer decided to stop fighting against the elements, but to embrace the offerings of his land. He happened to notice the irises he had planted on the farm were really thriving.  His idea has now bloomed beautifully. The irises are in bloom mid June and the lily season continues through the middle of July. The amazing sea of colors along the roadside are hard to miss, but you certainly won’t want to miss stopping to explore the farm and, of course, take some gorgeous iris home with you!
