ver wondered how Blue Springs got its start? Well, other than being a great place to live, Blue Springs has some other characteristics that made pioneers decide to settle down here.
Blue Springs was named by pioneers who found the area to be a perfect stopover due to the clean, clear, fresh water from a spring just off the Little Blue River. It began with a grist mill and grew since then. When it became the fourth settlement in its county, Blue Springs only had a population of 129 people! One hundred and forty years later, the population has grown by over 52,000 people. Talk about some growth!
