Why Do I Love Monmouth Heights? It’s Where I Raised My Daughter

I

was three months pregnant when my husband and I found our dream home in Monmouth Heights of Freehold. It was everything I hoped to find in a home to raise our child – a picturesque community with beautiful, tree lined streets, spacious homes and property sizes that were large enough for privacy, but not so large that you couldn’t see, or speak with your neighbors. Summers spent at the Monmouth Heights pool club was an easy way for my daughter to meet and make fast friendships with other kids in the neighborhood. It was also a great way for me to get to know the moms, many who are still my closest friends.

Michael Tighe Park was where my daughter began playing softball, which she would continue to play through college. Many memories and friendships were made on those beautiful ball fields, as well as the opportunity to take advantage of any number of activities offered by the Freehold Parks and Recreation. Being centrally located, we had the Jersey Shore Great Adventure, and the Freehold Raceway Mall, as well as our choice of orchards to go strawberry, peach, apple, and pumpkin picking!

Attending Laura Donovan Elementary School, Clifton T. Barkalow Middle School, and Freehold Township High School laid the ground work for her going off to and successfully graduating from Mt. St. Mary University, and starting her journey through law school. So many beautiful memories; so many strong friendships; a childhood my daughter describes as a fairy tale. Freehold Township, and Monmouth Heights were where we made our dreams come true!
