o often we get caught up in the hustle of life and forget to take time to rejuvenate ourselves. Recently, I had a few minutes to spare and stopped off at Penny Packer Park in Cherry Hill and took a walk. How refreshing it was to walk along the river and around the lake. I also walked onto the Haddonfield side and up to the Croft Farm. I really recommend rediscovering this Cherry Hill oasis. Biking, jogging, walking the dog as well as play equipment for the kids puts Penny Packer Park on the “to do” list this weekend. Come rediscover Cherry Hill!

magine a village with a trolley running down the middle of Main Street with beautiful homes on hills overlooking the water and gorgeous boats coming into the marina.  Restaurants, cafes and shops of every type with breathless sights at sunrise or sunset. The people are warm and friendly and will nod hello whether they know you or not. This is Northport Village over 100 years ago as well as today!  Well, except for the trolley. The lines are still there and are driven over every single day, but the trolley no longer runs.  It is a fantastic place to live, raise a family and remain for the rest of your life.  Well, that’s if you love good schools, great locations, warm and friendly people, and just about every type of recreation and shopping known to man.

 I would like to find something negative to say, but there truly isn’t anything.  Ok, here’s one:  it is on the far north coast of the island.  That’s it.  Beaches such as Crab Meadow for miles of white sand. There’s great golf here.  So many things are going on with special events often held in town and down at the marina area.  Real estate is varied; a little higher in starting prices than some other towns, but still very affordable and an extremely safe investment.  If you’re not sure where you want to live on Long Island, you should check out Northport.  You won’t be disappointed!

have lived and played in the Crystal Falls area almost my entire life. A short stint in both Lake Havasu, AZ and Steamboat Springs, CO helped me decide that the Iron County area was for me and my family! If you are looking for expansive shopping, then a larger and more populated area is where you need to be. If you like a quiet and slow pace, clean air, abundant wildlife, water and trees, this is the place to be. 

I like to have a variety of things to do outside and enjoy downhill skiing, hunting, canoeing and kayaking, summer pontooning and fishing. This is a great central location to enjoy the rest of what the upper peninsula has to offer as well. Sometimes I like to just sit on my deck, read a book or just think. Just yesterday I watched nine white tailed deer quietly poke around the forest behind my house.

We take trips to Green Bay, Milwaukee, Chicago and Florida. I often try to imagine what it might be like to live in those places. While they certainly have their attributes, for day to day living, I like it right here!
