Magnanini Winery: A Great Place for Dinner or Special Events

A

well known and loved destination in our area, Magnanini Winery started in 1983 to the first bottling a year later. In the spring of 1985, the family-style European restaurant was opened. It is now serving a delicious six course family style Italian meal including wine tasting only on the weekends. Most recently added a new addition, the Two Hearts Vineyard, which is an outdoor venue designed for special events or weddings. Set up on a ridge this vineyard offers stunning countryside views of 13 acres of vineyards and a secluded lake. Beautiful stone patio and terrace garden tent entrance and and an amphitheater built into the hill side make this location a unique setting for a dream wedding. I attended a Yoga class in The Vines event at night which was amazing. The yoga class overlooked the vineyards and then I enjoyed wine tasting and a light buffet in the wine tasting room which was a real treat!

Highway 45 Trail

I

am so excited about the fact that the biking/walking trail on the south side of Highway 45 was extended all the way to I-435 when they widened the road this winter. This allows you to bike all the way from I- 435 to the Line Creek Trail without ever getting on the road! According to the Platte County Parks & Recreation website, the length of this trail is roughly 6.5 miles, all of it paved and smooth. I use it regularly to bike between my home in Riss Lake to my farm near Thousand Oaks. I can be on the trail for 90% of this ride, which makes me feel so much safer. If you are looking for a new route to add to your repertoire, try this one out.
